A Wet and Rainy Start
The pickup to the airport went really smoothly with everyone arriving on time. The weather however was pretty miserable with dark and wet conditions.
The flight went pretty smoothly with everyone managing to make the gate on time.
Fingerprint Time
Most of the students were lucky and didn’t require their biometrics being taken. Unfortunately for me they insisted.
Welcome to Hungary
The signs when we got there were very welcoming! I particularly liked the pink and purple columns. It was also good to see a Spar!
Transfers
Shortly after we arrived our transfer mini busses arrived. The transfer was really smooth and we had a very friendly driver. The drive was approximately 3 hours and we took a short service station break to stretch our legs. Then we headed off again to our hotel.
Approximately 3 hrs later we arrived at our hotel.
After a quick wash and brush up and change of clothes we took a wander to the restaurant where we were going to have dinner. Already even from a short walk you could see that the buildings and architecture were very different to the UK. We passed a beautifully lit tower.
It wasn’t long before we arrived at our restaurant – I cannot remember the name but the food was very nice with meals cooks from scratch. There was also a bonus and that was the menu had English underneath the Hungarian. Below are a couple of the dishes.
A short walk home rounded off the evening nicely! The weather walking back was pretty cold but I had a warm room waiting for me. I am looking forward to tomorrow when I will meet all of the other students and staff at our exchange school in Hungary.
